Tukutuku panels

To complete our understanding of patterning and repeated patterns, we created these beautiful tukutuku panels out of cardboard. These panels were inspired by the patterns we saw in tukutuku in Wharenui and the book called ‘Maori Art for kids’ by Julie Noanoa and Norm Heke.

    1. Hi Julie,
I do apologise for an extremely late reply. We used masking tape, silver/gold and bronze pen for the strong lines and acrylic paint. The book does a better job of explaining the process. Hope this helps.

    2. Hello I would love to make these with my Embers group but I don’t want to give the kids the wrong info. the book is sold out. Anywhere else I can look for more info?
